Rob Comer Schools Running Movement Greater Manchester

ROB COMER

GREATER MANCHESTER

Rob is a former primary school teacher and Deputy Head teacher. At all three of the Stockport schools he worked at he ran school clubs, including cross country, and he continues to be passionate about helping children to be physically active.

Rob has volunteered at the past two Shrewsbury Half Marathons for school children, coordinating the safe repatriation of children at both events. He is also a keen runner himself, having completed many 5K and 10K events as well as Dublin Marathon. He is currently running a mile a day himself to experience Schools Half Marathon.

Rob is Regional Lead for Greater Manchester.

“The benefits of being an active runner I know personally – physically, intellectually and emotionally – and I am enjoying a continued healthy life thanks to running. It may seem contradictory but running is a great way to generate energy if you are feeling a bit low. I am delighted to be the Greater Manchester Coordinator for Schools Running Movement and can’t wait to help children across the area experience the joy and sense of achievement that running can bring.”
